Just like schedule information and social media posts, promos are an important part of letting everyone know what’s on your show.
Matt, Julian and Lucy are here to help offer guidance on what we’re looking for – and of course you can listen to the promos that are already on the air.
Chris Brown Promo
60s Scene Promo
Cambridge Breakfast Promo
To help speed up the process we’ve put together these simple guidelines.
What you need to know
Promos should be emailed to Matt [matt@cambridge105.co.uk] ideally a week before the programme is broadcast to allow for sufficient air time.
Guidelines for pre-made promos
- Remove all breaths from in-between speech (please mix in a multitrack session)
- Ensure audio levels are consistent
- Make sure the microphone is of the highest quality
- Ensure mixed promos don’t exceed 40 seconds
- Save the promo as a minimum of 320kbps
- End with [Show], [Time] on Cambridge 105 Radio. Listen Live on Radioplayer.
Please note that there may be occasions when a promo cannot be scheduled, or if the audio quality is not of a sufficient standard.
There’s also a limit to the number of promos that we can run at any one time, either to ensure we cover a good cross selection of the schedule, or because a special event is taking precedence.
