With the changes in our name to Cambridge 105 Radio and the new website and email addresses, now’s a good time to check your social media description is up to date, and tells people how to listen to you!
A typical description might read.
The Music Show can be heard on Cambridge 105 Radio every Tuesday at 8pm. Listen Online, On Digital and on FM”
You could also add the website www.cambridge105.co.uk
If you’re on Twitter tag us @cambridge105
or encourage listeners to
Download the RadioPlayer app to catch the show on the Go”. (@ukradioplayer)
Please avoid using other variations of the station name – there aren’t any – though it’s fine to use plain Cambridge 105 after the first mention.
While Mixcloud is important to many shows it’s important to point people towards the Cambridge 105 website – where your latest Mixcloud will be on your show page – and to help people find other Cambridge 105 shows.
Using Social Media.
Please encourage listeners to the Cambridge 105 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
If you run your own social media account make sure it’s clearly linked to Cambridge 105 Radio.
Here you’ll probably be giving advanced schedule information, news about your community of interest or a track listing. (You need to send in schedule info as soon as you have it for the website, but we try as far as possible to promote shows chronologically on Cambridge 105 social media, so you’re likely to see that posted a few hours before).
The best place to comment about shows is on the Cambridge 105 Facebook or Twitter feeds. Again, we want listeners to discover other Cambridge 105 shows, maybe yours.
Social Media is an important way to keep in touch with your listeners. Remember it can also be seen as an extension of your show and the station – so please don’t use bad language – people do check these things before agreeing to an interview. (Even if some guests swear even more!)
The same goes for politics, if you’re likely to be interviewing a local politician it’s not sensible to declare your support for a particular party. Always best to keep people guessing!
