Cambridge 105 will broadcast live from Red Velvet’s 24-hour Valentine Music Marathon this Friday (February 15th).
The 24-hour concert, will raise money for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, which raises money for people living with cancer.
It is being hosted at the home of Cambridge Folk Club, The Golden Hind, 355 Milton Rd, Cambridge from 8pm on Thursday February 14th.
Over 40 acts will be performing, including Na Mara, Marina Florance, Inlay, Pat Crilly & Greg Camburn, The Larks, Strangeworld, Cattle Barons, Tom Conway, Dave Jenkins, Two Coats Colder, Robin Gillan, and The Cambridge Crofters
Deirdre Murphy, one half of folk duo Red Velvet, told Cambridge 105 how she had continued to perform despite fighting an aggressive lymphoma. “During the whole time I had cancer Les Ray and I sang together and I am convinced music helped me have the right attitude”.
Cambridge 105 will broadcast all of its daytime shows from the event with appearances by Tim Willett, Lottie Booth, Claire Craig, Pete Robbins and Julian Clover.
There will also be an opportunity to hear live performances from some of the featured bands.
