Just like schedule information and social media posts, promos are an important part of letting everyone know what’s on your show.
Julian and Lucy are here to help offer guidance on what we’re looking for – and of course you can listen to the promos that are already on the air.To help speed up the process we’ve put together these simple guidelines.

Promos should be emailed to Julian [julian@cambridge.radio] no shorter than three days before the programme is scheduled to be broadcast to allow for sufficient air time.
Guidelines for pre-made promos
- Remove all breaths from in-between speech (please mix in a multitrack session)
- Ensure audio levels are consistent
- Make sure the microphone is of the highest quality
- Ensure mixed promos don’t exceed 40 seconds
- Save the promo as a minimum of 320kbps
- End with [Show], Online Whenever You Want and [Time] on Cambridge Radio.
Please note that there may be occasions when a promo cannot be scheduled, or if the audio quality is not of a sufficient standard.
There’s also a limit to the number of promos that we can run at any one time, either to ensure we cover a good cross selection of the schedule, or because a special event is taking precedence.
