1940s Re-enactment Weekend at Denny Abbey

Sunday May 24Monday May 25

Step back in time and join in for a Special Event celebrating the Home Front of the Second World War – on the 24th and 25th of May 2026.

Denny Abbey and Farmland Museum welcome you to their annual 1940s Re-enactment Weekend – a highlight of the year and a firm favourite in their calendar. The museum will come alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of the 1940s, offering a truly immersive experience for all ages.

Throughout the weekend, historical re-enactment groups will be onsite, bringing history to life with authentic displays, demonstrations, and stories from the era. Enjoy live music from the period, get involved in engaging children’s activities, and explore a variety of interactive exhibits and entertainment.

It’s a perfect way to commemorate this significant milestone in history, honouring the bravery and resilience of those who lived through the Second World War.

There will be free children’s crafts, 1940s themed stalls and café will be open all day.
