Special coverage will capture the music, artists and atmosphere of one of Cambridge’s best-loved cultural events
CAMBRIDGE, 23 July 2026 — Cambridge Radio will celebrate the return of the Cambridge Folk Festival with live broadcasts across the weekend.
The festival returns to Cherry Hinton Hall on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August as the centrepiece of a new city-wide programme.
Presenters Julian Clover, Linda Ness, Steffi Callister, Gavin Richards and Les Ray will feature artist interviews and live performances from across the folk tradition and conversations with the people who make the event possible. It will also celebrate Cambridge’s own music community and the festival’s continuing importance to the city.
“Cambridge Folk Festival holds a special place in the cultural life of our city,” said Julian Clover, Editorial Lead at Cambridge Radio. “Our coverage is about sharing that experience with the whole community – including those who could not secure a ticket. We want listeners to feel part of the festival wherever they may be.”
Listeners can hear Cambridge Radio’s Cambridge Folk Festival coverage on 105 FM, Digital Radio, online at Cambridge.Radio, Smart Speakers and the Radioplayer app. Full broadcast times and programme information will be available through Cambridge Radio’s website and social-media channels.
