Councillor calls for better management strategy for River Cam

A section of the River Cam which has been deemed unsafe needs proper investment and quickly, according to a Cambridge city councillor.

Earlier this week part of the riverbank next to Jesus Green lock collapsed into the river.

The lock has been closed for two years, ever since surveys found it needs urgent stabilisation work and is some months away from any remedial work beginning.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Cheney Payne tells Linda Ness there needs to be a better management strategy in place.
