Campaigners in Cambridge are calling for tighter controls on Houses in Multiple Occupation — known as HMOs — arguing that some parts of the city are seeing too many family homes converted into shared accommodation.
Guest Road Residents Association is urging Cambridge City Council to introduce planning measures already used in other university cities, including limits on concentrations of HMOs and new planning controls on conversions.
Donna Ferguson is one of the campaigners and spoke to Julian Clover on Monday’s Cambridge Breakfast.
