Baiju Thittala – Another Side of Cambridge

Lewis Herbert talks to former Cambridge Mayor Baiju Thittala about his journey from a small village in Kerala, south-west India, to becoming a criminal defence solicitor and City Councillor for East Chesterton. He reflects on his political upbringing, his determination to tackle inequality and racism, and his campaign for overseas-trained nurses seeking to practise in the UK.

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
