Alex Elbro: Maggie’s Centre

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need. Alex’s guest this afternoon is Jack Clarkson, from Maggie’s Cambridge which provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. Jack will be telling us all about what goes on in the centre and about their fundraising Christmas Concert at St John’s College Chapel.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
