The 13 hour marathon was held on Friday 13 December 2013.
Mike, known to fans as Pavarocki, stayed on the air throughout the night, armed with copious amounts of coffee, and took listener requests as he did his did his best to stay awake.
Beccy Turner, EACH Fundraiser, said: “Thank you so much to Mike and Cambridge 105 for supporting EACH through the 13 hour radio marathon. Mike’s efforts will help to provide care and support to local life-threatened children and their families and we are extremely grateful for the wonderful donation. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and we need to raise almost £6 million to deliver our services this year, this amounts to £16,000 a day, every day of the year. I hope that Mike inspires others to get involved and raise funds for their local children’s hospice.”
The fundraising for EACH is just one of a number of projects for the volunteer run community radio station, which has also raised over £2,000 is support of the MacMillan Big Coffee Morning and Children in Need.
