Neil & Lottie are joined by Mark Anstead of the Cambridgeshire Wine School to discuss the merits of Pino Grigio.
The wines featured in the programme were:
Stella Alpina Pinot Grigio 2011 (ITALY)
Alto Adige in the far North of Italy has vineyards lining either side of the valley formed by the River Adige. The reputation for quality, particularly from its aromatic white wines, is typified by this Pinot Grigio from one of the region’s better producers.
Waitrose Ripasso di Valpolicella
La Casetta Valpolicella Ripasso 2010 (Italy)
From the hilly villages east of Lake Garda, Ripasso wines are re-fermented on the dried-skins of Amarone grapes to combine the power and class of Amarone with the bright fruit of classic Valpolicella. The Wine Gang: “Classic Ripasso with typical notes of sweet and sour chocolate and damson. Impressive concentration and spicy finish.”
