Confidentiality:
Membership records will be kept confidential and members’ details will not be disclosed to other members without their permission and will not be passed to other organisations. Members’ details will only be used by Cambridge 105 for contact and monitoring purposes within the station.
These Terms and Conditions apply to members of Cambridge 105 only. Your Cambridge 105 membership entitles you to the following, provided no sanctions have been imposed to the contrary:
- Reasonable use of Cambridge 105 facilities that you have been trained to use, at a time agreed between you and the Committee
- One vote at the Cambridge 105 AGM and Emergency General Meetings
- Insurance against injury you suffer or cause due to negligence at the Cambridge 105 premises
As a Cambridge105 member there will be opportunities, but not necessarily entitlement to the following:
- Broadcast or participate in an on-air programme and have this programme carried in the published Cambridge 105 listings
- A variety of training programmes for presenting, production and technical aspects of radio
- Training for any relevant committee that you choose to join
- Cambridge 105 website features such as show pages
Rules:
Cambridge 105 is a volunteer run, community owned organisation with the aims of increasing community participation in Cambridge media, widening listener choice and providing quality training for its members.
To ensure that Cambridge 105 can continue to meet these aims the following rules have been drawn up. A full induction session to the premises and studios will be available once membership has been confirmed.
Signing in:
- Members must enter their details into the signing in book upon arrival at the Cambridge 105 premises. They will also take responsibility for signing in any guests.
- Any member entrusted with keys for the Cambridge 105 premises must accept full responsibility for their whereabouts. Keys should be returned to a member of the management committee as soon as possible.
Commitment and disciplinary action:
- Members must inform a member of management committee as soon as possible if are unable to attend a scheduled appointment or programme by emailing absence@cambridge105.co.uk
- Programme makers must give a minimum of one month’s holiday notice so that suitable cover can be arranged in time
- Cambridge105 operate a ‘3 strikes’ disciplinary system whereby members who fail to give adequate notice for scheduled appointments and programme production or submission on three occasions will have their programme privileges revoked or have appropriate sanctions made
Housekeeping:
- Cambridge 105 studios may only be used by those with a valid membership plus their authorised guests. Should a guest regularly appear on a programme or make use of the 105 facilities, then they may be requested to become a member
- No food / drink is permitted in the studio areas. Food & drink may be consumed outside the studio areas. We do ask that people leave the premises in a clean and tidy state at the end of any session
- Members will be liable for the costs of all damage caused by the spillage of food and/or drink in the studio
- Cambridge 105 does not permit consumption of alcohol or drugs on the premises
- Cambridge 105 premises are a no smoking area
- Mobile phones must be kept a sufficient distance away from the audio equipment to avoid audible interference
- All Cambridge105 members and visitors to the premises should be treated with respect and made to feel welcome. Discrimination, harassment or excessive use of profanities will not be tolerated
Cambridge 105 holds a radio licence through the independent regulator, Ofcom. Any on-air contributors are required to familiarise themselves with the Ofcom broadcasting regulations.
Cambridge 105 reserves the right to request an individual undergoes (and maintains an up-to-date) CRB check at their own cost. Should any issues come to light, the board has the right to review their membership and their scope of involvement with the station.
Under 18s need their parents’ permission and can only be in the studio/at events when a CRB certified volunteer is also present.
Cambridge 105 reserves the right to revisit and amend these Terms and Conditions to ensure they are in-keeping with the aims of the station.
