Starting Monday 11 November, community radio stations up and down the country are showing the love for our planet: all its habitats and all its creatures. Over 50 stations took part in 2023, this year we’re hoping it will be even more, and we’re proud to be one of them!
This year’s theme is especially exciting : the Sound of the Wild. Listen to the deep cracking of a glacier, or creatures going about their business in a pond, plus loads more. Play the Mystery Sound Game on Cambridge Breakfast, or just enjoy the music which lists Nature officially as one of the artists. But we’ll be thinking too about the increasing quiet, sometimes even silence as our fellow creatures disappear.
There will be messages from RSPB, Make My Money Matter and other national organisations and campaign groups, as well as wildlife film makers and leaders in cutting-edge science (like feeding the UK for a fortnight with ONE stem cell). Plus we’ll be hearing direct from people attending the COP29 talks who’ll be able to tell us about what they are, and what’s happening there.
