John Lennon was murdered outside his apartment building in New York 35 years ago. His first wife Cynthia Lennon wrote a book about their life together titled quite simply John. In this programme Cynthia reads from her book taking us through the highs and lows of their relationship giving a candid insight into life as a Beatle wife, the birth of their son Julian and the eventual destruction of their marriage. The programme paints an intimate picture of Lennon, his music and his premature death.Cynthia Lennon died earlier this year and so this programme is a tribute to her. Cynthia's book "John" is published by Hodder and Stoughton. The programme is an Eclectic Light Show special produced by Mandy Morton for Manic Arts Productions. Programme Website
