This weeks studio guest on Bookmark is Literary Agent, Rachel Calder. Rachel runs the prestigious Sayle Literary Agency based in Cambridge which counts Annie Proulx and Billy Bragg among its varied list of authors. She’ll be talking about what she looks for in a manuscript and how she knows when she’s found it, as well as reflecting on the effects of e-books and self-publishing. There are also interviews with local historian and writer, Louise Foxcroft, talking about her book The Irish Pasha, an exploration of the life of Pum Gayer Anderson, a true early twentieth century eccentric. And we’ll also hear from poet John Lyons and publisher Ian Dieffenthaler about the impact and influence of the Creole language on poetry. Programme Website
