Nick Coleman, from Fulbourn, was a rock journalist until tinnitus struck. His book The Train in the Night tells of the devastating effects of this. In it, he also recounts his musical journey as he grew up in Cambridge. We review it this week along with How Music Works by John Powell which explains just that, and Alan Rusbridger’s Play It Again which, if you’ve given up playing an instrument or are thinking of taking one up, will give you the push you need.
Securing the future of Community Radio
Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.
Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.
If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
You can support Cambridge 105 Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
