Linda Ness is to join Merlin Kothari as the new permanent co-host on 105 Breakfast, community radio station Cambridge 105 announced today.
105 Breakfast – the only breakfast show exclusively for the city of Cambridge and surrounding villages – is broadcast Monday to Friday from 7am to 10am on 105 FM and online.
Linda will make her official debut alongside Merlin on Monday June 23rd.
Said Merlin: “After a couple of trial runs it’s going to be great to have Linda to talk to every morning. We’ve got lots of new features planned, great music, and of course local news and travel. Best of all Linda has promised to give me a lift in”.
Linda added: “I’m really looking forward to joining Merlin on 105 Breakfast, it really is a special time of day. Being Scottish I also appreciate the petrol money Merlin has promised me.”
Merlin has presented 105 Breakfast since January. An avid marathon runner, Merlin took part in the London Marathon in 2013 and 2014. He’s worked variously as a fireman, a waiter and a stand up comedian.
Linda got her first taste of radio in her 20s, performing in the drama The Tay Tales of Terror, for commercial radio in Dundee. Surrounded by friends who were musicians, Linda ‘accidentally’ became involved in a 60s revival band that ended up supporting Showaddywaddy and The Four Tops.
