On Saturday the 15th and Sunday 16th of January, The Cambridge Time Traveller Group will be working in partnership with Cambridge105 to help you, the local community, learn more about audio production. From recording memories, conducting interviews, to even making a radio show – all will be available for FREE, in an audio workshop weekend for anyone interested to learn more about audio production.
The Cambridge Time Traveller Group is thrilled to be working in partnership with Cambridge105 because both organisations believe in helping to give the community of Cambridgeshire a voice. As a local community group we know how expensive it can be to get access to audio training and equipment. We have been lucky to have support from the Cambridge City Council and because of this kind support we have now been able to work alongside Cambridge105 to develop the project further and offer free workshops for people to record memories, interviews and features which may be an important part of recorded Cambridge history in the years to come. We also believe this workshop may help budding radio presenters/producers discover more about radio production with the chance to learn more about making their own radio shows. – Fonz Chamberlain, Chairman and Group Founder of the Cambridge Time Traveller Group.
The workshop will take place at the new Cambridge105 studios in Gwydir Street, Cambridge, where both organisations will be offering their knowledge of audio production to the community of Cambridgeshire at no cost.
After working really hard through 2010 to get our new studios up and running we are thrilled to start the new year with such an exciting project. We are committed to providing community focused audio training and this will be the first of many training opportunities we will be offering through 2011. Cambridge Time Travellers have been producing the very highest quality radio for Cambridge105 for a while now and we are both very pleased to be expanding this extremely successful project by recruiting and training more volunteers. – Catherine Kemp of Cambridge105
The community will be invited to come along to see how a radio show is made, have access to the studios, and the chance to use audio equipment. We’ll also be teaching the community the techniques that can be used to make their own short audio productions, to take away with them on the day. Radio presenters and technical teams from both organisations will also be on hand to answer questions, and give advice on making the best audio productions.
