First women’s amputee football match held in Cambridge

The UK’s first ever women’s amputee match took place on Saturday as Cambridge City took on Poland at the Community Stadium. Spectators saw a piece of history as the newly-formed Lilywhites team went up against one of the world’s best international sides. The game finished 1-1, but the visitors won 3-1 in a rematch that took place the following day. Daniel Baker went along and spoke to Izzy Papandronicou, Bell Dorman and Monika Kukla who all took part and managers Duncan Rumbelow and Wiktoria Łabędzka.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
