Empirical are one of the UK’s most respected contemporary jazz groups, known for their tight ensemble playing, thoughtful compositions and engaging live performances. Formed in 2007, the group has built a reputation for music that blends memorable melodies, adventurous improvisation and close musical interplay. Their approach draws on the full history of jazz while developing a distinctive modern voice, with each member an accomplished composer and bandleader in his own right.
