3rd Cambridge Chinese Music & Culture Festival
Saturday August 22–Wednesday August 26
Cambridge will host three generations of the Yushan Wu School, one of China’s most influential guqin families — a rare artistic gathering seldom seen outside China. A celebration of Cambridge’s cultural diversity. The Festival is organised by local Cambridge groups (Cambridge Qin Society, Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society, Cambridge Chinese Community Centre).
Opening Concert – The Soul of Chinese Music 22 August, Trinity College Chapel/ Celebrating 70 Years of Guqin Artistry – Wu Wenguang & the Yushan Wu School 23 August, Trinity College Chapel/ Boundless Voice: From the Silk Road to European Opera – Soprano Chen Wang 25 August, Downing Place URC/ Special Lectures by Professor Wu Wenguang 21 August – Trinity Hall, Cambridge 26 August – Royal Academy of Music, London.
