Chris takes over Saturday Breakfast

It’s all-change on Saturday mornings at Cambridge 105. With our resident Kiwi Karl Ashton returning to home shores, Chris Duerden will be the new host of Saturday Breakfast, ably assisted by newsman and general wit and raconteur Brian Harris.

The show will air every Saturday morning from 8-11am, with Chris and Brian taking a sideways look at the week’s local and national news, sports and entertainments stories, in addition to keeping you totally up-to-date with what’s happening in Cambridge over the weekend.

Chris, who presents the indie/alternative show Underdog on Monday nights, has promised a more familiar music selection in his new slot. “There might be a little bit less Phil Collins than Karl used to play” he laughs, “but expect a wide range of hits from the past 50 years, with hopefully the odd unexpected gem thrown in”.

He also revealed that the second hour of the show would each week be dedicated to chart hits from a particular year. “Its provisionally called “Annualise This!”, but if any listeners have a better suggestion we’d gladly consider it!” Get in touch with the guys at saturdaybreakfast@cambridge105.co.uk (all requests welcome) and don’t forget to tune in every Saturday morning!

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
