Cambridge 105’s day of fundraising for Children in Need was rewarded with a total in excess of £1,651.30, more than double the station’s target.
Volunteers from Cambridge 105 visited Sidney Street, Fitzroy Street and Sainsbury’s Coldhams Lane, where they collected money from onlookers, while they listened to music from local artists that included Patrick Sneezum, Sarah Louise, Tim Stickland, Lewis Mokler and Music & Spies.
The station was also broadcasting live on location throughout the day from the 105 outside broadcast van, known as Flossie.
The day started with 105 Breakfast presenters auctioning off 15-minute blocks of the programme with the bidders able to choose the music played during the segment.
