Cambridge 105 Radio has won in three of its four nominated categories at the Community Radio Awards 2022.
Documentary The Allan Brigham Story, took Silver in the Community Show of the Year
category. Produced by Leigh Chambers, the programme included contributions from his
brothers Robert and Nigel, his niece and nephew, those who worked with him at the
Cambridge Folk Museum and the Mill Road History Project, friends from the Cambridge
Labour Party and others whose lives he touched.
The Easts won Silver in Arts & Creative Radio of the Year. The eight-part family drama was
set in the East of England and spanned the seven decades of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Easts was produced by Trevor Dann, directed by Leigh Chambers and supported by the
Audio Content Fund. It was broadcast in the run up to Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
Leigh also received Bronze in the Best Female Presenter category. In addition to presenting
a mid-morning show twice a week, Leigh also interviews local authors in our feature series
Bookmark and is a part of the station’s election coverage team.
Saturday Breakfast presenter Matt Webb was named a finalist in the Best Male Presenter category.

family were able to contribute to Leigh’s documentary of his story.

writers and actors perfectly captured the journey made by society during the 70 years of Her
Majesty’s reign.”

The awards were presented on November 19th at King’s House, Bedford.
