Cambridge 105 kicks off 2013 Strawberry Fair coverage

Chris Duerden and Jordan Worland with Simon PanruckerCambridge 105 has begun its coverage of the Cambridge Band Competition 2013 with a live broadcast of the first heat from The Portland Arms.

The competition is part of the build up to this year’s Strawberry Fair with Cambridge 105 broadcasting all four heats from The Portland Arms on Friday evenings in March. We’ll will also broadcast the final from The Cambridge Junction on Friday April 5th.

The first programme was presented by Chris Duerden and Jordan Worland. It featured performances from Simon Panrucker (right with Chris and Jordan), Ltee, Love Hats and the eventual winners DAFM.

Tim Willett will present the remaining heats that will feature:

Heat 2:

Music & Spies
Good Morning Beautiful
Just William and the Outlaws
Christian Smith

Heat 3:

Chasing Malfina
The Darwin Republic
Equatus
Cemetary Junction

Heat 4:

Xsara
The Mojo Slide
Hopes and Fears
Gossip Wolf and the Fox

The Cambridge Band Competition is just part of Cambridge 105’s support for local music that also includes The New Music Generator, The Unsigned Chart and Ezio’s Songsmith Sessions.
