July 22, 2013/Arguably the most important event in the city’s musical calendar takes place this weekend with the running of the Cambridge Folk Festival (July 25 to 28).
Cambridge 105 will have coverage of the event during Summer Saturday (July 27th at 3pm) and in a special three-hour Night of the Artisans from 7pm on Monday (July 29th).
Pete Robbins will carry all the news from Cherry Hinton Hall featuring interviews recorded on site and tracks from artists playing across the entire weekend.
Said Pete: “The Cambridge Folk Festival is about more than the big names on Stage 1 and Stage 2 and provides a showcase for lesser known artists through areas such as the The Den which is dedicated to emerging talent”.
This year’s Folk Festival features a line-up that includes The Waterboys, Bellowhead, Levellers, Patty Griffin, The Mavericks, Thea Gilmore, KT Tunstall and Steeleye Span.
