Leigh Chambers and Menna van Praag present the fortnightly show featuring Cambridge-based writers. This week's studio guest is Francis Spufford, author of a wide and varied range of non-fiction books on subjects as diverse as british boffins, communism in Russia in the 1960s and his own return to Christianity. He’ll be talking about just what inspires him and how he’s tackling his first work of fiction. We’ll also have interviews with Susannah Gibson, talking about her first book Animal, Vegetable or Mineral which explores the impact of the scientific discoveries and debates taking place in the eighteenth century. And scriptwriter Paul Bassett Davies (Spitting Image, Alas Smith and Jones) tells us about writing drama for radio and gags for Twitter. Programme Website
