The Business of Cambridge: How to innovate

We know how crucial innovation is to the success of a business and the wider economy, but how does it work in practice? Is it simply about the core idea, or about getting the process right? We’re familiar with the phrase, ‘it’s good to fail’, but how do you fail well so there’s a good outcome at the end? And what happens if you run out of money!

Host Sue Keogh is joined by Cassandra Padbury, Strategy, Innovation and Process Senior Consultant at Cambridge Consultants, the Science Park success story who develop products as varied as wine blending systems, asthma inhalers, smart gas meters and surgical robots; and Caroline Clark, from fellow Science Park residents Simprints, gives us insights from a startup perspective, talking us through the process of developing biometric fingerprint technology to help people in the developing world.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
