Suzie Thorpe: Music in the Parks

We may not be able to enjoy The Big Weekend or the Cambridge Folk Festival this year, but Cambridge City Council is planning a series of outdoor live music concerts. Featuring an array of diverse music from local jazz and folk to the summery strains of brass bands, Music in the Park is free and will take place in a variety of neighbourhood parks, including Cherry Hinton Hall and Jesus Green, on Sunday afternoons during August and September. Suzie Thorpe has been finding out more from councillor Anna Smith.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
