The studio guest is debut novelist, Guinevere Glasfurd whose book, The Words In My Hand has had rave reviews. Telling the story of Descartes’ relationship with his maid, Helena, the novel has been hailed by The Sunday Times as a ‘striking debut’ and named by The Times as its Book of the Month. Guin talks to us about the challenges she faced in writing about, and creating characters for, such a famous man and relatively mysterious woman.
