Alan Alder takes a tour around music blogs and online ‘zines. We hear the evolution of Brian Wilson’s Surf’s Up from 1967 to 2004, and the surprising connection between the songs Bo Diddley and Mockingbird and their link to pre-civil war West African slaves. There’s a wide variety of music amongst the 16 tracks we feature. Some new, some old favourites and some too good to be unknown.
Securing the future of Community Radio
Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.
Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.
If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
