World Radio Day: Open House Radio

Inspired by pioneering developments in radio by Pye Ltd in Chesterton, artist Hannah Kemp-Welch has been working with residents of North Cambridge to explore, create and capture stories, songs and sounds which celebrate the diversity of voices within our community.

As part of World Radio Day on February 13th, we hear from residents of North Cambridge: local histories, hopes for the future, playlists, performances, conversations and archival material.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
