The end of Day 9 means that Jez has now walked more than 200 miles and visited five of the 18 English Premier League clubs on his list.
It was a difficult day today with visits to both Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium not quite going according to plan. It will mean that plans will have to be reorganised at the last minute.
The original plans were that Jez would visit Anfield and Goodison Park tomorrow and then move on towards the Midlands but now Jez wants to back track to the Etihad Stadium so that he can meet up with the Executive Manager of City on the Community Mr Alex Williams MBE. Alex, a former City goalkeeper, is responsible for managing City’s interactions with the community and Jez planned a fact finding chat with him that he felt was too good an opportunity to pass up.
An early start will mean that Jez will be able to re-visit Manchester City (This time being driven by the support team) after he has visited the two Merseyside clubs.
Jez closed his day 9 update with a plea to all U’s fans to buy tickets for this Fridays Cambridge XI vs Arsenal U21 fundraising match. Kick Off is at 7pm and tickets are £6.76 in advance or £10 on the door – further details can be found on the Cambridge United website.
The club is asking for donations to be made through its Just Giving page.
