Day 6 saw Jez head to Pontefract as he continued on to Manchester following the route of the M62 (although given his recent run in with the law he wisely decided not to walk the hard shoulder!).
Jez’s blisters are requiring constant attention but at least with suitable medical coverage on the walk they are being dealt with properly. This is in stark contrast to previous walks where dealing with a blister meant stamping hard on a kerb to burst it!
Jez has now clocked up more than 150 miles out of the total of 676 and is in reasonably high spirits
A number of local employers have now started to join the likes of Sapura and Premier Holidays who kicked off the corporate fundraising and Jez reminded everyone that without both corporate and individual donors then the walk is nothing more than an interesting diversion at the end of the season.
Money raised will help the Youth and Community Trust continue to fund their community activities including Holiday Sports Days, Toddler Football, Disability Football and initiatives like fighting childhood obesity.
The club is asking for donations to be made through its Just Giving page.
