Mission 676: Day 5

ian ashbeeDay 5 saw Jez arrive at the KC Stadium, ticking of the third of the 18 English Premier League grounds he is visiting during the #Mission676 project.

The KC stadium is the centrepiece of Hull City’s involvement in the community and Jez spent time with the first team squad discussing football and community.

After the obligatory keepy up challenge, this time with Ian Ashbee (pictured left) who played more than 200 games at both the U’s and Hull City, Jez continued  on to start the trek over the Pennines to visit the North West.

After the difficult trek over the Moors Jez was in better spirits and his body was starting to get used to the strains imposed on it and he was actually looking forward to ticking off four more clubs once he reaches Manchester (Monday) and Liverpool (Tuesday).

As he walked Jez commented on the fact that although he was often walking alone he always felt he was in company the the messages of support he gets via social media and also by knowing that many people were helping to push the total higher every day.

The club is asking for donations to be made through its Just Giving page.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
