Another hard day of walking over the North Yorkshire Moors. Jez had to keep the speed up as he needed to finish early today to make sure he had time to get to the Shay , to watch the U’s play Halifax FC in the first leg of the play-offs.
Today’s biggest achievement appeared to be that the support team had managed to track down a Subway so that Jez could feast on coffee and a sandwich at lunchtime.
Despite the hills, the navigation had been somewhat easier, and unlike yesterday the team hadn’t got lost lost trying to find a non-existant road – still, at least the extra two miles they covered made up for the distance missed on Day 2 when Jez was driven off the A19 by local police!
Tomorrow should see Jez arrive in Hull to meet Ian Ashbee, former Cambridge United and Hull player, at the KC Stadium before he then begins the long trek over to the Northwest of England.
In support of the #Mission676 project the club, today, announced a charity match between a Cambridge XI and an Arsenal U21 team to be held at the R Costings Abbey Stadium on Friday 9th at 7pm. More details can be found on the Cambridge United website
The club is asking for donations to be made through its Just Giving page.
