Mission 676: Day 18

Jaz and the Bad Hair DayLast night the team stopped at Southdown B&B in Devizes run by Martin and Sue who are both fans of the U’s. Martin and Sue will be travelling up to Wembley on Sunday for the play off final against Gateshead.  The stay at Southdown wasn’t originally part of the plan but Martin saw the press articles about the walk and decided to extend an offer of free hospitality to the team.

When walking as far as Jez is, its important to make sure you get plenty of energy and the Chinese buffet provided by Martin and Sue certainly hit the spot with the everyone.  They even provided an Amber and Black themed fruit salad for breakfast.

Jez is due to get close to St Marys (Southampton FC) tonight and will visit the club tomorrow morning.

The major talking point of the day, however, wasnt the walk or the blisters or even the excellent hospitality it was the haircut.  Jez decided that the warmer weather meant he needed a haircut and rather than find a barbers Guy decided that he’d have a go with his clippers whilst Jez had an ice bath.  Unfortunately between, a mistake in length and the fact that the clippers ran out of power half way, Jez ended up with a very strange looking, half and half, cut (pictured left) – not sure if it will catch on.  See the full horror unfold on the Twitter feed.

The club is asking for donations to be made through its Just Giving page.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
