Ukulele Hits with Andy Brown
Saturday August 2
Andy Brown is a member of the George Formby Society, who got into playing ukulele about four years ago and started learning George’s hits, (Leaning on a Lamp Post, When I’m Cleaning Windows, Blackpool Rock etc.) He’s always played around in local Cambridge bands on bass and keyboards but decided to try something new on his own.
To make the performance a good variety act he has added lots of other 1940s songs from other artists too, Flanagan and Allen, Bing Crosby, Max Bygraves to name a few, A suit, brogues and a fedora hat giving Andy a vintage look .
There will also be songs from other decades too, The Beatles, The Monkeys, Van Morrison and even Buddy Holly.
