Storytelling by Andy Lawrence, Theatre of Widdershins
Have you ever wanted to be in a band? Look cool with a guitar slung over your shoulder? Twiddling drumsticks high in the air? This was the dream of four friends: Rodney the Donkey, Rufus the Dog, Mimi the Cat and Spockerel the Cockerel. But to fulfil their destiny they must brave the woods where only bandits dwell. Andy Lawrence retells this Brothers Grimm story for modern times in his charismatic and engaging style with beautiful and imaginative hand-made props.
Theatre of Widdershins was created by Andy Lawrence in 1994, performing eight major productions in festivals, theatres. libraries and schools. Andy is a self-taught puppet marker whose previous work includes costume commissions for the Light Entertainment Department of the BBC, puppet and prop making for theatre companies and collaborations with the Norwich Puppet Theatre and the Roald Dahl Story Company.
