Cole Porter, one of America’s finest song and musical theatre composers, perfected his distinctive style during the 1920 and 30s: an irresistible blend of witty, refined lyrics and sophisticated, swinging melodies. Matt Ford and Matt Regan’s programme includes the Broadway smash hits I’ve Got You Under My Skin, True Love, Night & Day, So In Love, From This Moment On, I Get a Kick Out Of You and Anything Goes; songs that allowed Americans to forget the troubles of the Great Depression and enjoy a fleeting taste of an aspirational, opulent lifestyle.
Matt Ford is widely regarded as the finest big band singer in the UK, performing for 5 years with the multi award-winning Syd Lawrence Orchestra. In 2006 Matt was voted ‘Best UK Male Big Band Vocalist’ and nominated alongside Jamie Cullum in the inaugural Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Awards (Best UK Male Vocalist category). He performs here in partnership with acclaimed jazz pianist Matt Regan.
