Mr. Griff at Cambridge Junction

£12.00After 2023’s sell out album launch Mr Griff and his 8 piece funk and soul extravaganza will be returning to Cambridges J2 for another winter spectacular.
Since the launch of the new album ‘The Architect’ the band have been touring the UK, gaining new fans with a busy festival season, including Festival in the Gardens, The Willow Festival and headlining at Cambridges Strawberry Fair. Along the way they have supported Alabama 3, Smoove and Turrell, The Riot Jazz Brass Band and The Edwin Starr Band featuring Anton Starr. The first single release ‘Wasting Time’ was made track of the week on BBC introducing described as “Moody, cool as hell, sunglasses on, jazz funk driven beauty”.
Mr Griff himself has been a session drummer for over 20 years, spending 7 years playing with soul singer Myles Sanko. The band features local guitar hero Booga who has played with Dizzie Rascal, Owen Paul, Rob Harris from Jamiroquai and Ezio and newest member and multi instrumentalist Jonners Czerwik, who brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the group having previously worked with Cheryl Crow, Paul Carrick, David Grey, Boy George and many more.
The band will be performing tracks from both albums and will be debuting brand new material from the forthcoming new album. This promises to be an incredible night of original funk and soul from a fantastic local group starting to make waves on the UK scene.
