Get ready for a memorable day out at the National Trust’s Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire this Christmas with brand new experiences in the house and gardens.
Meet Father Christmas as he stops off at Anglesey Abbey to deliver presents before his busiest day of the year. Children can enjoy a cosy story time with Father Christmas and have fun making and decorating a wish to hang on the Christmas tree with Pepper Mint the Elf.Anglesey Abbey is working with The Walking Theatre Company to put on this festive, immersive Santa experience. Each session lasts for 45-minutes; tickets are £26 per child and an accompanying adult is included in the price. Children will receive a gift from Father Christmas and will have the opportunity to take photos together at the end.
Father Christmas will be at Anglesey Abbey each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 29 November to Sunday 22 December, with an added bonus of Monday 23 December! For more information and to book your tickets, please head to the Anglesey Abbey website: nationaltrust.org.uk/angleseyabbey
Meet Santa’s reindeer – For three days from 21 to 23 December, come and meet some reindeer in the gardens at Anglesey Abbey and learn some fascinating facts about them. Visitors can chat to the reindeer handlers and enjoy taking photos.
For the first time this winter, 10 beautifully painted bear sculptures will be displayed on a trail through the gardens at Anglesey Abbey.
In collaboration with Wild in Art and Walker Books, the trail promises an enchanting journey through art and adventure, inspired by the beloved children’s story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.
The grounds are open daily from 9.30am – 4pm and the trail is free for National Trust members while normal admission charges apply for non-National Trust members.
The house at Anglesey Abbey will be beautifully decorated for the Christmas season, with festive displays highlighting Lord Fairhaven’s vast and significant collection. Step inside to discover a treasure-trove of history and admire the themed Christmas decorations in each room.
