FreeUpcoming Barbie Set Designer event hosted by the Fitzwilliam Museum Society that might be of interest to aspiring student film-makers!
A talk titled ‘Designing Cinematic Worlds: A Conversation with Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer’. Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer were the production designer and set decorator respectively for the film Barbie, which recently became the highest grossing film ever produced by Warner Brothers studio and broke the American domestic box office record for the highest grossing film directed by a woman.
Their past work includes collaborations on films such as Atonement, Anna Karenina, and Beauty and the Beast. Both women have been nominated for Academy Awards six times throughout their careers. In 2007 they won a BAFTA for Best Production design for their work on Atonement, and they have been nominated for this award a further five times.
The talk will be on Tuesday the 7th of November at the Cambridge Union at 5.00 pm.
The talk will last around an hour – allowing time for questions at the end and will be followed by a wine reception. Entrance will be completely free.
