Cambridge United chairman Dave Doggett has expressed his delight at plans by Cambridge 105 to extend its coverage of the club.
The community radio station is launching a new weekly post match show presented live following home games from the R Costings Abbey Stadium and will be providing fans in the stadium with pre-match entertainment.
“I’m delighted that Cambridge 105 will be part of the match day team this season as they have lots of ideas for making our matches an even better experience for fans of all ages,” said Doggett.
“Cambridge 105’s new Saturday afternoon football show will be broadcast from the R Costings Abbey Stadium and promises to offer something different to United fans on their way home. Cambridge United is a football club that is actively involved in our local community and so it’s great to be making links with local organisations like Cambridge 105 who also have deep roots in the city”.
The new Saturday post match show will run from 4pm to 6pm each Saturday afternoon and will be hosted by Chris Duerden, who moves from Cambridge 105’s Saturday Breakfast show. When United play away from home the programme will come from the Cambridge 105 studios in Gwydir Street.
Chris Duerden commented: “It’s great to be involved with our coverage of Cambridge United this season. We promise to give fans a truly Cambridge perspective. And with the station broadcasting both on 105 FM in Cambridge and online there’s no reason to miss the coverage at away matches”.
On Sunday nights from 6pm popular fan show From the Terraces features fan reaction and comment from Cambridge United, Cambridge City, Histon FC and St Neots.
