This festive season, Cambridge 105 Radio brings Christmas music from local schoolchildren and the world-famous King’s College choir, recalls the heyday of the Howard Mallett Centre, runs a live treasure hunt around the city, and Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Nigel Gawthrope turns radio presenter.
In between there’s special programmes from favourite presenters including live breakfast shows on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day with Phil Rowe and Glenn Jones.
While Julian Clover and Lucy Milazzo take a Christmas break, Matt Webb takes the Cambridge Breakfast reins for Christmas with essential news, weather and travel.
Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Nigel Gawthrope said: “The show represents my musical influences chronologically, starting with the first record I ever bought, then the soul influences of my teens and the prog rock of my outlaw biker days.”
Tim Willett, Station Manager, Cambridge 105 Radio: “Once again we’ve been able to produce a schedule that reflects the city and South Cambridgeshire. It’s hard to believe that all of our programme-makers are volunteers
“I’m sure that on Christmas morning many people will be unwrapping smart speakers and shouting ‘Play Cambridge 105 Radio’, they won’t be disappointed.”
