Mission 676: Day 13

Day 13 and a difficult but interesting day that saw Jez being driven to the West Brom Ground on the day before he would arrive on foot.  The reason for the break in the walk was so that he could do an interview with the BBC.  So it was all stop, drive to the Hawthorns (whilst having legs iced and massaged), do the interview and then drive back to … [Read more...]

Mission 676: Day 12

Day 12 and Jez is starting to feel the mental as well as the physical demands placed on his body by the walk.  It seems that sometimes the walking is the easy (if somewhat painful) part and that the, necessary, recovery processes at the hotel in the evening can be more of a pain. On the mental side Jez is starting to think about the long section … [Read more...]

Mission 676: Day 11

Day 11 and Jez's blister is still causing a lot of pain.  Wet weather in the afternoon is only going to make it worse. After the delays of yesterday the team decided to complete a couple of extra miles to get them back on target and that meant a late finish and Jez feared that he may have overdone it - however the magic hands of the physio left … [Read more...]

Jez was impressed with the work City were doing and, in his discussion with Alex, he expressed … [Read more...]

Mission 676: Day 9

The end of Day 9 means that Jez has now walked more than 200 miles and visited five of the 18 English Premier League clubs on his list. It was a difficult day today with visits to both Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium not quite going according to plan.  It will mean that plans will have to be reorganised at the last minute. The original plans … [Read more...]

Mission 676: Day 8

"Wemberleeee Wemberleeee - we're the famous Cambridge United and we're going to Wemberleeee" Day 8 and all is good in the world. A very early start that allowed Jez to put 10 miles in before the long drive to Cambridge for the 2nd leg of the Play Off Semi Finals.  He arrived at the club to a rapturous welcome and was welcomed onto the pitch by a … [Read more...]

Mission 676: Day 7

Day 7 saw Jez heading off through Wakefield.  He was making better time than yesterday when he ended up walking for virtually eight hours. Jez revealed, for those who didn't already know, that his left leg was a bit of a medical nightmare as not only has he had knee reconstruction work, but he also has a plate and four screws in his ankle.  As … [Read more...]
