Cambridge 105 Strawberry Fair stage bigger than ever

The Abstracts, The Staycations, Fred’s House, Grace Sarah v Goldstar and Stretch Soul Gang lead all day music line-up

Cambridge 105 will again be broadcasting live from Strawberry Fair on Midsummer Common (June 6th). The community radio station, known as The Home of Cambridge Music, has gathered together a line-up of some of the area’s finest performers.

Coverage is being presented in association with Lost in Vinyl, the online and Magdalene Street record store.

Our expanded stage is located at the Fort St George end of Midsummer Common, near Victoria Avenue.

Cambridge 105 is live from 11am, when we’ll bring you coverage of the Strawberry Fair parade, which this year takes ‘Down by the River’ as its theme.

The music starts at 12 noon, when Strummers & Dreamers presenter Les Ray presents his regular Strawberry Fair showcase to young folk musicians including Dom Daniels, AJ Watts, Ellie Dixon, Sophie Winter and Priority.

From 1pm presenters including Neil Whiteside, Linda Ness, Julian Clover, Matt Webb, Phil Rowe, Becky Marcus and Mike Prior will introduce acts from across the region.

Appearing on the Cambridge 105 stage this year will be Plumbjam, The Woodleys, Lost Lungs, Hardactors, Glue, Kermode Spirit, Oscar Corney, Tom Lumley, and Charlie & Molly,

As dusk falls over Midsummer Common there’s music from indie/folk-band The Staycations, folk popsters Fred’s House, a live performance from 17-year old Grace Sarah as part of her musical collaboration with stadium dance band Goldstar and Sudbury-based Funk/Hip-Hop/Soul band Stretch Soul Gang.

The evening will be headlined by The Abstracts, the four-piece rock/indie/pop band from Cambridge.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
