Cambridge 105 featured heavily in the local press on Friday 30th March with not one, but THREE articles in Cambridge News.
The articles covered the construction of our second radio studio, our outside broadcasts from Cambridge United, and an award given to presenter and station director Greg Butler.
The article on our second studio “Community Radio is right on beam with new studio” (Page 21) explained how our second studio is hoping to be ready for use within the month thanks to an £800 donation from the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation. The donation will help us “bridge the gap between broadcasters and the public” by opening up the new studio to training both new and existing volunteers, as well as open up the station to work experience placements.
An article also covered our outside broadcast from the R Costings Abbey Stadium, home to Cambridge United football club. From the stadium came our local football programme “From the Terraces” as well as live results show “Saturday Sports Zone”. Both shows looked behind-the-scenes to interview everyone from match-day staff to groundsmen, from security to trainers, to find what really makes the club tick.
Finally, our third article covered the success of presenter and director Greg Butler. Greg, who presents “The Kipper The Cat Show” and “Greg’s Vinyl Lunchbox” picked up the Cambridge News Award in the South Cambridgeshire district council’s Arts Awards. Greg was chosen for the award following his hard work and dedication as a key figure in our growing station.
Congratulations and thanks go out to everyone at Cambridge 105 whose work makes us newsworthy, and to Cambridge News for printing it.
