Licensing fight leaves councillor with £34,000 legal bill

A Cambridge City Councillor has been left with a £34,000 legal bill after intervening on behalf of residents to stop alcohol from being sold in a Mill Road Supermarket. Labour’s Richard Robertson was trying to prevent street drinking after the Council’s Licensing Sub Committee granted an alcohol licence to the new Mill Road Co-op.
